Making the holiday season even brighter, Boyd Gaming will award more than $40,000 to nonprofits throughout Southern Nevada in one of the Las Vegas Valley’s favorite traditions, Trees of Hope.
From now until Sunday, Dec. 16, the Las Vegas community is invited to visit each property and vote for their favorite charity’s decorated tree. The seven Las Vegas properties will each award more than $5,000 to participating charities, with the first-place prize of $2,000. Winners will be decided by public vote at each property. A Boyd Gaming player’s card account is required to vote on a property.
The Boys & Girls Club of Southern Nevada Jr . Youth of the Year (YOY), Damien Watts recently made his television debut on Las Vegas Now airing on KLAS TV 8. While much of the interview was to promote the Raiders Foundation Gridiron Griddle event, 13-year-old, Damien shared what an honor to have been selected for his leadership and to represent the Boulder Highway Clubhouse.
Selected among nine outstanding teens, 16 year old, Kaprice Burns has been named the Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada. The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to live a healthy lifestyle. Now in its 71st year, the Youth of the Year program honors our nation’s most awe-inspiring young people on their path to great futures and encourages all kids to lead, succeed and inspire. Kaprice will go on to vie for the Nevada Youth of the Year title and a $5,000 college scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
